The fact that more people don’t know about this app is a little travesty, it’s incredible. The sheer volume is amazing and it’s so helpful. If your a writer you need this app.

Been searching off and on for YEARS for good writing and character creation aids, and I can say with great pleasure that this is the best money I’ve spent in that department. Worth every cent. The sheer volume of stuff here is incredible, and they even included a randomizer for each category so you can shuffle any list and use it as a sort of “prompt”.

Hi I’m a writer! My friend and I love this app!! Thank you so much for this app, My friend and I would love it if you could make another app similar to this, but with tips, like how to set a scene, and writing examples, and what to do and how to prepare and plan if you are writing fantasy, or sci-fi. I right now am writing and planning for a huge fantasy/adventure series called Steel and Scale, I am publishing it even though I’m a minor ( under 18 )😅 it’s not finished yet though but pls don’t take the title? Anyways, this app is incredible! It has tons of ideas and words and categories that you wouldn’t even have though of! It has a note tab for you to keep your story or favourite words in ( but you need to write out the words and definitions but it lets you copy and paste ) and it has a define tool if you need to know the definition! But it almost always has the definition under the word! It’s color coded and so funk and it has the side bar so if u press on H, u get the letters that start with H in that catagory, which is super helpful if you want alliteration ( like, Peter pumpkin wanted pie Peter pumpkin wanted pickle pie with pepper pickle pepperoni pieced pieces) idk that was rlly bad, but yes! Tyyyyy so much, it’s SOO AWESOME AND HELPFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH Suggestions: Please add a..... app similar to this, but with tips, like how to set a scene, and writing examples, and what to do and how to prepare and plan if you are writing fantasy, or sci-fi. Please add a..... thing that lets you find hold down or type out a word then find a bunch of things like, words that rhyme with it, words that don’t rhyme with it, all the meanings, words to replace it, so like instead of smile, you could see a list of interesting things instead of smile like grin, beam, smirk, and instead of happy, a list of opposites like depressed, sorrowful, woeful, saddened, etc TYYY

This app makes it easy to have commonly used word categories at your fingertips. I keep my on a spreadsheet and isn’t always convenient. I would make one suggestion, I really wish I could add more words and/or categories of my own. For instance, I’d like a category of ways to say “say”.

I’ve had this app for ten minutes and I’ve tried it and I LOVE IT! It has accurate informational lists of everything you need to plan your story or character. It would even be helpful for people needing a simple informational app to tap into instead of having to search it on the complex internet. It has lists from names to locations, to zodiac signs, to physical appearances, and more! IT’S LITERALLY PERFECT! SERIOUSLY. THE SIMPLEST AND MOST HELPFUL INFORMATIONAL PLANNING APP IS ONLY 3$! Best money I’ve ever spent!

I looooove this app so much! It gave me just what I needed when I needed to create a character in a book I’m writing. It’s one of the best apps I’ve ever used and I would definitely recommend it. However, I don’t really think it should cost money. It’s great and all, but I told my friend about it and she said she couldn’t get it because it wasn’t free. I suggest you make it free and/or take the price down. Then, you might get more customers. Thanks for creating an app that I love!

Still in my early days of using this app. Working on converting my original work from floppy disk has been made a bit easier. The layout is a bit confusing but once you get the hang of it it’s all gravy. Will update more stars after I have a full year of use.

I wish the app contain search bar and better UI design the black border around table are annoying giving the app cheap feeling like it was made by someone who is still learning how to develop apps, pulse it would nice to be able save my favorite words since I can’t even search them

I have been looking for something like this. I can really focus on each character in my story and organize them on the go! Love, love, love this app!!!

The lists are excellent and comprehensive, but the app is a little clunky. It shuffles, but it’s not very powerful otherwise. I want the ability to edit the lists, insert whole new lists, or reorganize them as I see fit.

I love this app much! It’s very helpful. However, it would be awesome if I could make lists and categorize them by whichever story I am writing. Over all it’s a great app 💕.

Just having a list of names is helpful enough, but all the other lists at least the ones I’ve seen so far are helpful as well, could really be useful for fleshing out scenes, characters, locations ect when you hit the inevitable lull/fallow period in a piece of writing, not to mention a fresh orientation to different dimensions that can be utilized in thoughtful and inventive ways in a story. Also (and I think this is very important to me as a writer) it ain’t heavy on description, you get enough of a definition when warranted to get the idea but not enough to utilize the idea without fleshing it out and building your own narrative structure with it.

Upside: this app is the mortal enemy of writer’s block. Downside: the “Seven Basic Plots” section is a bit thin, even cryptic. Download this app now!

Not amazing and a bit limited but overall a helpful tool

I absolutely love this app. I love that it has tons of words and things I can use at once so that I don’t have to go on google and type in every single one. And most of the time I don’t know what to write about! But this app gives me ideas and thoughts so writers block turns into, well, writers idea I guess!? But I do have one suggestion. When we click on a word that we want to use, if we don’t know what it means can we see a definition please? If you don’t take in this suggestion it’s okay, but I really don’t feel like having to go to another website to know what it means. Thanks again for this awesome app!!!! Your money is definitely worth this! 💜💜🌷😁😁😊😊

Words and word origins have always intrigued me. Words are powerful. Increasing my vocabulary is fun to me. I hope this will be as much fun to you as it is to me

I love this app, but I wish it had more examples and definitions for some of the categories. Definitely worth it though!

This is the best $3 I’ve ever spent. If you’re a writer, this is a must-have! Lots of things I didn’t know are in there. It’s like a writer-specific dictionary!

This has a lot of typos and is extremely generic. Found nothing useful at all, so deleted.

Would change my review if you were able to save and make list. As it is you’re paying $3 for something you can google for free. Interesting concept but poor execution

I live this app because it had a large selection of names for characters and so much more!

This app is a great list to start your story idea, develop and create great settings and characters, and help writer’s block; but don’t rely on them to completely to tell your story. All you’ll get is description which can become boring. With that being said there’s always words on this list that will enhance a story strongly, you just have to pick them wisely and use words that won’t interrupt the voice, or mood of the story or a character you’re working on.

I was hesitant when I first saw this. I rarely ever buy apps/games. I bought it anyway and I'm SO glad I did!!! Its super helpful. Before I struggled a TON when it came to writing stories. After i bought this I honestly believe, I've come up with more ideas in a week then I would have in like two months without this app. I STRONGLY recommend this to any writer/author out there. You wont be sorry!!

Can you find everything in this app on the internet for free? Yes, of course you can. Is this the most extensive list of random things to spark inspiration? No, it isn’t. However, having a ton of random inspiration lists on a very organized app is well worth it the two dollars to me. Especially when the alternative is to browse random lists on google for an hour just to find a simple name for a flash fiction character. The only thing I wish the app had was a wider variety of names. All the names on the list are all out of the ‘top 100’ baby names lists online. John. Elizabeth. Ruby. Not that it’s a bad thing, but I prefer more ‘out there’ names for fantasy and science fiction.

Lists for writers has been a tool I have used for years. It’s got names, places, occupations and even silly words. It’s the perfect tool for writers.

I’ve had this app for a couple of years. It sits in the background, largely unused, until I’m in the middle of an intense writing session and don’t have time to play with coming up with names. It’s saved countless sessions from procrastination daydreams and supplied the names for most of the supporting characters in my novel.

This app is so amazing! If you are a writer, you NEED this. (The extensive list of names is especially of use to me) You must must MUST get this app! Aaaand that’s all I have to say!

Great app but it puts my OCD into overdrive having it letterboxed.

This app is good, with the potential to be great. I know open-sourcing it would make it more susceptible to constant error, but it would be nice if there was a way to make this list more dynamic - allow users to suggest more words, examples, definitions, and categories!

Maybe it’s my mistake for not fully looking through the description. But, i thought i could at least have the option of choosing the names and other things on the list and have it aside in a menu or something. Sort of like a blueprint for my novel, where i can see the structure of my characters and where they’re going instead of using the whole novel as a reference.

This has been a huge help for those times when I let myself get bogged down in the name of a random character. Stop trying to make the pizza delivery boy’s name meaningful and just let the list do it for you. I do wish that there was a way to make my own lists that are helpful for my specific writings that I need over and over.

Great! Has a lot but should be still adding more. A list of flowers, plant life, insects, synonyms, jobs, ect. Keep adding this is great. Or have an option where users can make their own lists

If you're a writer, this should be your go-to app. For someone who has been writing stories for nearly five years, this saves so much time. It gives vague ideas that could turn into anything. If helps describe nearly every feature on a person, and has a perfect list of names. This app is more than what it says, I promise. It has helped my stories be written faster by giving creativity and also helps with forming a storyline. I love and support this app so much, I've always recommended it to all my friends, and have even gifted it to a few. This app is definitely worth buying and underrated.

I have had this app for a long while, and I've never written a review on it! To put it simply, it's one of my favourites. There was clearly so much time put into this application, and whether youre a writer or not, it's actually pretty useful for ideas or anything else to get you going! I definitely suggest downloading it
